TJS Family History: Privacy Policy

  1. Data Gathering
  2. The very nature of Genealogy involves uncovering and storing personal data of our past and living relatives. The following Privacy Pollicy sets out how this information is handled within TJS Family History

    As sole owner and researcher within TJS Family History, I, Michael Scott, will be the only person to handle and be privy to this information. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office, (reference: ZB726345) for TJS PC Services trading as TJS Family History. As sole researcher through the ICO, I am fully compliant with GDPR.

  3. Data Storage & Retention
  4. All information is to be stored on a single computer, or in hard copy format. Data will never be placed online at any time by TJS Family History. Data will include, but is not limited to;
    1. Names
    2. Emails
    3. Telephone
    4. Address
    5. Relevant Dates (BMD - Birth/ Mariage/Death)
    6. Photographs

    Details will never be sold or passed on to a third party. All information held, will be retained for a period of seven years in order to comply with government business guidelines.

  5. Code of Ethics
  6. As an Associate member of AGRA, (Association of Genealogists & Researchers in Archives), I am required to abide by AGRA’s Code of Practice and Ethics. These are specific guidelines that ensure Clients can feel secure in the knowledge that their information and requests are handled with complete discretion and privacy, by trained Professional Genealogists.
